Valentine Love Mini Album with Robyn Pitts

 Robyn created her Love Mini Album using medium weight 12 x 12 black chipboard and poured a lot of love, passion and creativity into each page. See how she turned the 4 page Love Word Album into a keepsake that will hold over 36 photos. Every page is filled with beautiful detail and fun, interactive features.

The letter “L” is cut from 2 layers of black chipboard that creates room for the shaker elements. The chipboard letter is then outlined in rhinestones and the shaker heart is filled with sequins.

When you open Robyn's album the back of her cover page is kept simple with a panel to journal or write a special message to the recipient. What a wonderful keepsake this would make for a newly wed couple. 

 
A large heart (in place of the letter O) is cut from 2 layers of black chipboard and then glued down on just the right side to create room for a pocket on the left.  Robyn also created an additional black boarder to outline the heart and she explains in her links how she did that. 

The heart is embellished with a mini fringe heart, pink and white rose floral spray, ribbon, several layers of decorative chipboard elements and a whimsical silver glitter arrow.

Several 3x4 journal cards that are backed with black cardstock are placed behind the heart pocket and are perfect for adding more photos.

 

Robyn created this next pocket by duplicating the base of the “Heart” page and cutting it in half. Then she created gussets on both sides to create a pocket.

The pocket is lined with pink lace, hearts and more rhinestones.
This pocket contains (4) 4x6 journal cards that are perfect for photos and journaling. She also included a tag and a small heart shaped notepad for more journaling

The letter “V” is cut on 1 layer of black chipboard and outlined with rhinestones then embellished with a beautiful resin butterfly, pink and white rose spray, and a lace applique.

 The Letter “E” is cut on 2 layers of black chipboard to create room for the shaker element which is filled with sequins. More embellishments, hearts, a pink and white rose floral spray and mini envelope are added to the bottom of the letter.

Photo Tutorial for the Comfy Chair Easel Card.

Use the product photo as a guide when selecting your choice of papers for individual parts of the chair. To see some inspiration for colors and prints here are some photos of this chair done by our Design Team.

1. Cut out all your pieces.

  

2. Add the cushion, skirt, back and arm layers to the front of card backing.

 

3. Add the top skirt to the front.

 

4. Add all the trim/piping pieces.

5. Add the Chair doily.



6. Assemble the bear. Use a fine point pen to add eyes.



7. Attach the bear and throw pillow to the chair.



8. Assemble inside tag layers. If you decide to use one of the printable tags included with this set, you will find those in the PDF. Otherwise you can use your own rubber stamped greeting or handwritten note. Use a pop-dot to add some height to the tag layers because this is what holds the card upright when opened.

9. Score along lines of card base. Apply glue ONLY to the front bottom half as shown.

10. Attach the finished Chair to the front of the card carefully lining up along the side and bottom edges of card backing.

11. Look of card when completed and fully closed for mailing. Card will lay flat.

 

 

 

12. When card is opened, the bottom of the chair skirt will rest behind the tag layers and held open for display.

Martha's Sweet Heart Trees

The Sweet Trees were inspired by a similar craft seen on Martha Stewart. We LOVE Martha but are not affiliated with Martha Stewart in any way. We don't cook like her, clean like her or make the big bucks like her, BUT we did find a better, easier and inexpensive way to make those sweet paper trees.

 

 

 This latest design "Martha's Sweet HEART Trees" was created for Valentines with cut out hearts on the tips of the branches. These would also make beautiful table top decor for a wedding or bridal shower.

 

The trees are large averaging 5" to 12" tall.  You decide. Add layers for a taller tree or fewer for a smaller version. They will stand alone without a base to support them.

 

 

They come in all the different cutting files, AI, DXF, GSD and of course SVG! No matter what cutting machine you use one you'll find a file that works. All the score lines are done too.

 

Top the trees with jingle bells, pom poms or cut out hearts.

Monster Pops and Googly Eyes for Valentines

Have you met our newest little monsters?

Meet Googly Frank, Swirly Sue, Hearty Harold and Glassy Gayle.

 

 

The new Monster Love Pops are characters that hold your cake pops and lollipops. The hole in front lets the pop serve as the nose. Includes a PDF to print a one piece colored version for hand cutting.

 

It folds at the bottom and a small hole lets you slip in the stick of the pop thru. Then you glue the tops together to close.

 

Finished size after a cake pop or tootsie pop is added will be
3.75" wide x 3.75" tall.

 

 

DT Marlene's LOVE Pops...

Its February and LOVE is in the air!  These Monster lollipops are just CRAZY in LOVE. They are so easy to put together and so much fun to embellish. 

I changed up the eyes a bit on Love Monster Sue. I left out one eye layer and switched out the black eye circle for a heart shaped one. I also added little sparkly pom-poms for her antennae.

Tutorial for New Bath Bomb and Ornament Holders

This is a photo tutorial for the new Bath Bomb gift boxes.

All of the boxes go together in same way other than the front pieces of the characters themselves. Those can pieced and layered together like any other paper piecing.

 

1. Cut out all your pieces. Glue all the characters parts and pieces to the front of the box before assembling the carrier.

 

2. After you have the character's pieces (face, hat, scarves, etc.)added to the front of the box flip both the front and back facedown and end to end, lineup the circles on the lower large tabs and glue together. You will now have one long piece. This is the top section of the Bath Bomb box.

3. Fold the score lines on the bottom section and lay it on your work surface with tabs coming up as shown. Flip the top section of the box "face up" and lay it cross wise on the bottom section as shown in the photo above and glue in place matching up the center circles.

 

The pattern comes with 2 different sizes of bottom boxes, the part that hangs down below the character's body. The following shows a different method of closing the tall box and short box.

 

TALL BOX.... 

4. If using the taller box bottom you will see a cutout tab on one side and slit on the other. This tab and slit is not on the shorter box.

5. I'm jumping a little ahead to show how the box closes on the bottom. Pop up the tab cutout and insert it into the slot on the other side as shown. You will then push it fully closed.

6. Before closing the bottom tabs, lay the box on it's side, insert your bath bomb or ornament into the bottom box. The top of the bomb or ornament rests up into the circle cutout.

7. Now insert the cutout tab into the slot and push the sides together to fully close.

8. Stand the gift box up right. Thread a length of ribbon or twine thru the holes in the neck area and tie your box top closed. 

 

 

SHORT BOX... 

The short box works best for small bath bombs and those little EOS lip glosses. They will even work for K-cups.

 

The circle in the main pattern piece is 2-1/2" in diameter. For smaller items I included 4 additional inserts with every design. These hold your item in place, make it easy to open and remove the gift and then reuse the box.

9. Set your item in the box and then place the insert tab on top to be sure you have the size you need. Fold up the tabs on the insert. Glue the long tab to inside edge keeping the folded edges for the insert and box lined up.

10. Now gently push the insert down over your item. Don't glue the short tab. This tab is used to open and remove the gift item easily without tearing the box apart. It will stay down when you tie the top of box closed.

**TIP: I cut out all 4 inserts and save off to the side. Then I can use them to determine what size insert I will need on each project.  When I know what size I want then I only have to cut one from the right color cardstock.

Daisy Tutorial for Shasta Daisy

 

The number of pieces needed for the beautiful paper Shasta Daisy are few. The papers I use are solid 65# card stock. It's a little lighter weight than the 110# cardstocks and much easier to work with. Yet it still creates a sturdy paper daisy that will last a long time.

 

I bought my papers at Joann and Hobby Lobby in large muli color packs of 25 and 200. With Hobby Lobby's 40% Off coupon you can save big time on The Paper Studio Cardstock Pack. It comes in a 200 value pack for regular price of $12.99. I also picked up Parklane's 25 pack of white from Joann during a sale. I plan to make a LOT of these flowers to give away in bouquets.

 

DAISIES in 4 Varieties Cutting Files 

 

Forming the 3 Petal Layers...

 

1. Cut all your pieces for the Shasta Daisy.

2. I use a long narrow knitting needle to gently mold the petals but you can also do this with just your fingers by gently pinching along the edges.

3-4. Press the base of petals up from the center to form a cup shape from the petals.

 

Forming Stamens for the Center Cone...

 

5 - 6. Hold the stamens in the center with one hand and use your fingers on the other hand to push stamens up creating a cone shape.

7. When you get a bit of cone shape you can roll it between you fingers to getter a better crease around the bottom.

8. Repeat the same process with all the stamen pieces. You can add a few more stamens if you like to get an even fuller denser look to the final cone.

 

9.  Get all your stamens formed before gluing together.

10. For the stamen in the very center, pinch along the outside bottom to form a closed piece.

11. Use a hot glue gun, add one tiny dot of hot glue to the bottom of the center and then adhere it to the center of the next stamen layer.

12. Continue stacking the stamen layers from smallest to largest.

 

 

Putting the parts together...

 

13. Use a dab of hot glue on the bottom center of the daisy petals to adhere them together. I like to stagger the centers a little as I go.

14. Adhere the cone to center of daisy.

15. Add a bit of hot glue to the back sepal as shown.

16. Overlap the spikes of the sepal as shown, forming a cone. When glue has cooled you can gently curl the very tips of the spikes back to give it a natural look. 

 

 

17. I used 22 gauge floral cloth stem wire for the stems. Using a pair of needle nose pliers I form a flat circle on one end.

18. Add a small puddle of hot glue to the back of the daisy, attach the circular form of the stem to this and hold in place while the glue cools and dries.

19. Slip the wire thru the hole in the sepal. Add a few bits of hot glue round the edges.

20. Push the sepal up to the bottom of the daisy to adhere it.

Adding Leaves to the Arrangement...

 

21. I use my scoring tool to crease along the center of the leaves and then gently folded just a bit to give it shape.

22. Add a thin line of hot glue along the fold line.

23. Place a stem wire along the glue.

24. After putting together you arrangement of daisies add a few leaves here and there. One leaf per stem seems to look just about right so that makes adding leaves to the bouquet even easier.

The various daisies are all constructed in the same way, but by changing up the size and order of the center cones along with changing colors you get 4 varieties. To make this easy for you to figure out there is a separate file for each variety with the sizes needed.
