Comfy Chair Easel Card and a Relaxing Day

Sometimes all you need is a comfy chair and a good book to relax and rest. It's something we all need or long for from time to time.

The Comfy Chair Easel Card sends wishes for that peaceful relaxing day.

The layers for this chair let you pick your own fabrics and style from your paper stash. Here's some more designs from our Design Team that reflect their own personal style...

Julie chose one of the sentiments that came with the file "Wishing You A Restful, Peaceful, Beautiful Day". She choose a floral print along with stripes and solids and the perfect pillow.

Nicole @ TeachDanz

"I wanted to share a card I made specifically for a friend who is going through some health issues and I thought this card would be the right "touch" to let her know I am thinking about her."

"The fun with putting this card together is selecting the papers/patterns for your chair ;)  My friend really likes retro - furniture, clothes, hair, etc. ... so I tried to make my chair with that concept in mind."  ~ Nicole

The Comfy Chair Easel Card is 6" X 6" and folds flat for mailing.
It includes the printable tags included below.

And here's wishing you a peaceful
relaxing day of creativity.

Fall Paper Crafting Inspiration

I know the sunflowers in the garden are now gone, all their remains raked up and stuffed in black bags. Winter is at the door but.... it's still November. Thanksgiving is not yet here. Some days I still sit on the porch without a coat and soak in the warm sun. So in my world  I will still celebrate Fall. Just because I can.

Until I see those actual cold white flakes of snow covering where the sunflowers grew or until I've enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast with family, you will still find signs of Fall at MyScrapChick.

 Banana Bread Gift Box...
Julie planned to make some small banana bread loafs to give as gifts.  She used the sunflower included with the file and added a cute gift tag to the box handle and tied it with twine and attached it to the box handle with a small metal clip.

 Fall Bracket Book...

Nancy cut the base pages from kraft cardstock. Then she down-sized the page just a bit, and added a layer of cardstock to each side in Fall colors. See the rest of the details on her blog of how she put this altogether.

displayed in my album!
It's such a fun one to put together!"
Be sure to see all the photos of her beautiful inside pages.

I love fall. Sometimes I feel like one of those trees that just has to hang onto a few of those last orange and red leaves. I'm just not ready to leave this season of colors. Or the warmth of the sun.

Happy Fall, Ya'll!

Beautiful Cards using the Freebie Friday Designs

Today's post features beautiful cards from our design team using designs that started out as "Freebie Fridays."

Every week since 2008 we have sent out a newsletter with a "new" freebie design and cutting files. It's a great way to try out our designs, file setup and the download process.

Each freebie is available for a week at no charge. You simply add them to your account just like any regular purchase and checkout free. After that you can login to your account at MyScrapChick at anytime, whether it's today or next year, and then download the files right to your pc.

(Note: Since 2019 we switched to awesome monthly freebies)

Apple Blossoms and Trifold Card

Thinking of You Card

Julie combined 2 Freebie Friday designs to create her beautifully elegant card and added her own circle cutout with a stamped greeting.

The designs shown in this post are no longer free but you can get all the new ones coming. Just sign up for the newsletter and enjoy all the great designs to come.

Apple Blossoms and Box in a Card

Get Well Bouquet Card

This adorable Box in a Card uses the same Apple Blossom as the previous design so Julie is finding a lot of ways to use the same flower design for different projects.

Mothers Day Card

Kristin used a Freebie Friday card that came with a card base, front layers and a simple posie. She used the same cutting file for the posie and resized it to make 2 more for a corner bouquet. The lettered greeting was also a freebie at one time and it works perfect with her Mothers Day Card.

Spring Paper Wreaths using Svgs and Cardstock

Shirley decided to make a paper wreath in beautiful spring colors. Her part of the country had a long cold winter so this beauty is a welcome addition to her front door.

Butterfly Wreath

Create a Butterfly Garden on your own front door by using a thrift store wreath or sprucing up your own grapevine wreath, using it as a base. Add the butterflies from the Butterfly Easel card and the Butterfly layers cutting files. Shirley's color combination for papers is perfect for spring but you could also change up the colors to suite summer and fall themes.

Spring Wreath with Paper Flowers and Belle Bird

All the makings for a spring wreath are right there in your stacks of cardstock. Every part of Julie's wreath is made from scrapbook papers including the round base.

She cut 3 wreath forms from the Fall Leaf Wreath cutting file and glued them together for a sturdy base. Then she added simple flower shapes, a 3D paper bow and Belle Bird.

Easter Inspiration from the Design Team - Part 3

We're sharing some ideas and inspiration for your paper crafting this Easter with Belly Boxes, treat boxes that look like bunnies, easter eggs and even a bunny top hat. Plus a surprise idea to add to the mix is a charm bracelet. Here's the lineup.....

Easter Bunny Treat Wraps
Marlene @ Scrappin Cookie

By enlarging the pattern from the Bunny Wrap svgs Marlene was able to make these fit three different candies - Hershey Marshmallow Egg, Crunch Egg, and a small clear bag with Jellybeans.

Fun Spring Charm Bracelet

Remember the old "Shrinky Dinks" craft? Debb printed each jpg from the Easter stencils onto inkjet shrink film, colored them, added a hole for hanging and then shrunk them for this bracelet. Then just added little jump rings and attached to a bracelet.

Easter Inspiration with the Design Team - Part 1

Oh Oh! There are Bunnies in the Carrot Patch.

Can you imagine how tickled some grandkids would be to get these bunnies/carrots as an Easter gift from Grandma? That's a large part of the focus of Shirley's papercrafting...her grandkids. And I can imagine how special and loved that makes them feel. My grandkids all live hundreds of miles in opposite directions but maybe papercrafting cards and special treats more often like "bunnies in the carrot patch" would shorten the miles between us. You simply have to read Shirley's blog post at Scrappy Sam Designs, these little guys are just too cute.

Bunny Lollipop Holder
Sue bought pastel tootsie pops and matched them to her polka dot stash of papers. She took her big batch of Easter treats to work and shared them with her co-workers.

 Carrot Easter Basket with
Kristin's carrot basket is filled with tall bunny topped treats. She found adorable peas and carrot candies, put them into tall thin baggies and added the printed bunny to the top.

 Bunny's Tophat Box
Julie  is on a roll with all her Easter creations. That includes this treat box using the Bunny Tophat with his birdie and paper bow. The hat lifts off so you can fill it up with candy goodies. Julie's Creations-From My Heart to Yours.
