Inspiration from Christmas Past

Sharing these special projects by the design team from a Christmas past during our Christmas In July week at myscrapchick.com

 Gingerbread Man Shape Card
This is such a sweet card by Nancy @ The Nickel Nook
"He'd make a cute decoration too, wouldn't he?
He just needs a bunch of friends around him!"

Here's another wonderful card by Nancy where she plays with her new "Opal Magic Paint". If you want to learn how she did this just visit her blog post here at The Nickel Nook and she will walk you thru the steps.

The snowman, tree and snowdrift were attached to the base with foam tape to give the card some dimension.

"This was a fun, easy card that is so cute!"

The Nutcracker Set becomes Shape Cards
Sue turned the paper pieced characters from the Nutcracker Set in to these beautiful shape cards for her family. She shares all the "how-to's" in her blog post @ Sue Stamping Stuff.

I loved the Nutcracker card so created a new one that is already to go with all you need to make the new Nutcracker Shape Card below.

 3D Poinsettia Christmas Ornaments
Shirley @ Scrappy Sam Designs used 3 different files to create these gorgeous Christmas ornaments. I think they would look lovely too strung along as garland on the fireplace mantel.

Marlene aka Scrappin Cookie from the DT is the brain child behind our Bath Bomb Gift Box design. These have been a fun design to create and you can expect to see a few more for other holidays.

This beautiful sleigh and all it's beautifully decorative touches was done by Els @ The Art of Els Schutte

We have more Christmas in July design inspiration coming thruout the week and lots to share in our facebook group so come by and join us in our  MyScrapChick Makers Group on Facebook.

3. Elegant Vintage Layered Card

The new Vintage Layered Card with an Oval Frame was the base for Els to add her antique print and Heartfelt floral arrangement. A light touch of inking along the cream edges of the card layer add to the vintage look of her gorgeous card.

Old -fashioned Sweet Sugar Egg with Paper Becomes a New Keepsake.

Many of us have fond memories of those beautiful sugar eggs at Easter. This sweet tradition continues with these delicately decorated eggs now done with paper.

From The Art of Els Schutte

Els created this keepsake Sugar Egg using
the
Sweet Sugar Egg from myscrapchick

After cutting and assembling the paper egg and it's delicate flowered frame Els continued decorating with more mini white paper flowers and paper leaves. She added lace trim behind the frame to create an even more fanciful touch.

The scene inside the egg was cut and layered using a vintage print of this rabbit.

Els then added a spray of paper flowers to the front and top along with a blue silky ribbon all tied up in a bow. Her sweet sugar egg is so reminiscent of the old fashioned eggs from long ago. But we think hers is even more beautiful than the ones we remember.

Els Beautiful Paper Succulents

Paper succulents are all the rage right now. When I saw these beauties from Els I thought they were real. It took me a few moments to realize these were actually paper! I was thrilled.

From the Art of Els Schutte

Els used the flower petals from Cut Flowers and the new Flower of Hope to create her arrangement.

The petals can be enlarged or reduced to create a variety of sizes for a natural look. I'm loving Els' arrangement. It works with a wide range of color choices in greens, blues, cinnamon and plum.

You could add these paper succulents to small terra cotta pots or old wood boxes. Actually almost any container would work. Maybe even create a summer wreath for your front door.

This would look so beautiful on my coffee table. I'm also thinking I will add a pot of succulents to my computer desk.
